The Electrical Division is responsible for ensuring public safety, health, and welfare insofar as they are affected by the installation of electrical systems and appliances. The Electrical Inspector enforces the National Electrical Code and any other applicable rules, regulations and laws related to electrical installation and safety. Electrical permits are issued through our office to install electrical wiring for power and light, low-voltage systems (i.e. security, fire alarm, data cables, etc.) and electrical appliances in all residential and commercial buildings and structures within the Town of Canton.
The Electrical Inspector is responsible for performing underground, site, rough and final inspections on all electrical permits issued by this office. These inspections are necessary to ensure that the work performed complies with the standards set forth in the National Electrical Code.
