This week a Town worker accessing the attic at the Gridley School on Washington St. found split rafters and some other problems with the roof framing. The Building Commissioner has inspected the roof and has determined that the structure is now unsafe to occupy. The Town will have a structural review of the building performed and will report the condition to our insurance company. In the meantime, the building will be marked with a 30” red letter “X”, which indicates to firefighters that, in the case of a fire, an outside ground attack only is performed. If the public has any questions please call the Selectmen’s office at 781-821-5000.
