Due Dates

Canton is on a quarterly billing cycle for real estate and personal property taxes. The due dates are: 

Responsibilities:

The Division of Treasury Management/Collections is headed by a Town Treasurer/Collector, appointed by the Director of Finance, subject to the approval of the Board of Selectmen. The Town Treasurer/Collector is responsible for the following general duties: acquire rate bids to ensure beneficial borrowing rates, provide reconciliation services on all bank accounts, balance all monthly receipts with bank statements, invest all Town funds, collect and deposit all tax title payments.

In addition, the Town Treasurer/Collector shall have all other powers and authority which are given by General Law to Town Treasurers and Town Collectors.

Fees:
  
    Municipal Lien Certificates:
           $50 for a residential
           $100 for a commercial one.

    Demands/Warrants:
           Excise/Real Estate/Personal Property Demand  - $10.00
           Excise Warrant  - $10.00

           Excise Registry Marked Fee - $20.00

           Deputy Collector Fee - $29.00
