Due to weather and flooding conditions Westwood has closed Dedham St @ Canton Street. Motorist should expect delays and seek alternate routes

Due to heavy rainfall and resulting flooding across Canton, the Canton Board of Selectmen has called a State of Emergency.   All appropriate Town Departments are taking every precaution to ensure public safety.   In areas that are low lying and have dams as part of any nearby water body, special care should be given when travel is absolutely necessary, as roadways in some areas of Town are now flooded, and in some limited cases not passable.   

   The Town’s structural engineer is conducting evaluations of key water containment structures throughout the Town.   Department of Public Works, Police and Fire Departments are actively responding and assisting residents during this storm event. 

   In the event of a true emergency please call 911.   The Town will remain vigilant in its response efforts and will be on top of the changing conditions throughout the day and into this evening.   All non Emergency calls related to the storm should be directed to 781 821 5000.
