Important Notice from the Town of Canton About Your
Pescription Drug Coverage and Medicare

Please read the notice below carefully and keep it where you can find it. This notice has information about your current prescription drug coverage with the Town of Canton and about your options under Medicare’s prescription drug coverage.  This information can help you decide whether or not you want to join a Medicare drug plan. 

2016 Medicare B Premiums

The Medicare Part B premium effective January 1, 2016 has been announced.  The standard Part B premium will be $121.80 (or higher depending on the employee’s income).  
However, most people who get Social Security benefits will continue to pay a Part B premium of $104.90 each month.  There will be a  different premium amount in 2016 if: 

  • You enroll in Part B for the first time in 2016
  • You don’t get Social Security benefits
  • You have Medicare and Medicaid, and Medicaid pays your premiums
  • Your modified adjusted gross income as reported on your IRS tax return from 2 years ago is above a certain amount.
