Town of Canton Citizens,
I urge all citizens of the town, elected and appointed officials, and other interested individuals to attend our upcoming Planning Board hearing on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. in the Salah Hearing Room at Canton Town Hall. The hearing will be on the petition of Canton Development Properties, LLC on property located at the former Plymouth Rubber site.
Napelton has filed an industrial subdivision plan containing 39 acres, with the Planning Board. For the town, this is no ordinary subdivision. It will continue the industrial use and will have major impact on the future of our town. Issues of traffic and historic preservation, with the Revere Barn and Copper Rolling Mill slated for demolition, will be discussed and your opinion on these issues matter greatly.
Public comment is crucial and I encourage all to let their voices be heard. If you are unable to attend a meeting, please send the Board a letter and it will be entered into the record. Government is run by those who show up. Historic decisions will be made and impact could be felt for years to come. As elected officials, we are public servants and to best serve the public interest we need to know the feeling of those we serve. Take the time and make your voice heard and if you can, bring your neighbor.
Respectfully yours,
Jeremy J. Comeau, Chairman
Canton Planning Board
