[ARCHIVED] Washington Street Traffic

The Canton DPW has been investigating the heavy volume of traffic on Washington Street at the new Washington/Chapman & Dedham Street traffic signals. The DPW has learned from the contractors who installed the signals, Bell Traffic, that they have found that the pavement loop at Chapman Street is damaged and that reprogramming is needed by the engineer who designed the system. The DPW and Bell Traffic are monitoring and adjusting the equipment daily to achieve optimal results until the loop is repaired and reprogramming can be done. The Town apologizes for any inconvenience this has caused you but wants to assure you we are working on the problem. If you have any questions please call the DPW office at 781-821-5000.
