Town Clerk Tracy Kenney has announced that nomination papers for the April 4th, 2023 Annual Town Election will be available in the Town Clerk’s office beginning on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 at 8:00am. The deadline to obtain nomination papers is Friday, February 10th, 2023 at 1:00pm.
To become a candidate for local office, you must be 18 years of age or older, and be a registered voter in the Town of Canton. Candidates must obtain the signatures of at least fifty (50) registered voters in the Town of Canton. The deadline to file completed nomination papers with the Board of Registrars is Tuesday, February 14th, 2023 at 7:00pm.
The offices that will appear on the ballot are as follows:
Select Board: Two, three-year terms
Board of Assessors: One, three-year term
Board of Health: One, three-year term
School Committee: Two, three-year terms
Planning Board: One, five-year term
Trustees of Public Library: Three, three-year terms
Housing Authority: One, five-year term
